Valencia Airport is a pioneer in the installation of the HVLS (High Volume Low Speed) fan system in Spain. And following the benefits of its application in terms of comfort and energy savings when combined with other air conditioning systems, many airports have joined the energy savings that come with the installation of this efficient Magnovent solution.
The airport’s objective was to increase the comfort of its users and maintain an ideal temperature throughout the year, through a smooth and precise air flow that would ultimately result in a healthier and more comfortable environment for them.
To make this possible, Magnovent installed HVLS fans, and the following advantages have been achieved throughout the year:
In summer
With the installation of large HVLS fans at Valencia Airport, the thermal sensation of users and workers has been maintained. between 4 and 5 degrees below the actual temperature, which makes it possible to increase the set point temperature of the air conditioning system, running less time and obtaining significant energy savings.
In winter
Because the hot air from the airport’s existing air conditioning system tends to rise, the temperature difference between the upper and lower terminals was more than 5 degrees. This has been solved with the use of Magnovent’s HVLS fans, as the hot air is blown towards the floor and mixed, thus homogenizing the air mass and achieving savings of up to 45%.
HVLS fans spin 50% slower than a conventional fan, yet move 560% more air, are highly energy efficient and offer the greatest air volume displacement at very low cost.
Thus, the HVLS fan system has been the perfect solution to increase the comfort of users and workers at Valencia Airport, resulting in daily energy savings of 1528.67kWh and annual economic savings of 181,605.96€.
At Magnovent, as specialists in ventilation and air conditioning, we carry out an energy efficiency study according to the size of the space and provide the ideal solution for each one, always respecting energy efficiency standards in each of our work processes.
