About Ikea Zaragoza
Ikea is one of the largest companies in the world dedicated to the manufacture and retail sale of fourniture, objects for home and other decoration details.
Ikea owns in Zaragoza (Spain) a 10,000m² facility that includes exhibition, self-service warehouse area, logistics zone and checkout.
The challenge
Reduce the annual consumption of energy in cooling and heating.
Maintain the comfort of workers and customers despite reducing electricity consumption.
The solution
Ikea decided to install HVLS fans throughout the store following Magnovent’s proposal.
During winter, the air temperature increases 3ºC because the fans are lowering the hot air of the upper coats.
During summer, it has been possible to raise the temperature reference of the air conditioning thermostat, getting a considerable reduction in energy consumption, without adversely affect comfort or air quality. In summer days, when the temperature does not exceed 26ºC, the air conditioning is turned OFF.
After checking the system operation success, Ikea decided to implement our fans system in several stores in Spain.
