The Challenge
Back in 2013, we had the following request: cool in summer and heat in winter a 2000m² area to guarantee employees comfort without consuming a lot of energy. The area where employees spend more time is a small area of a big logistics building.
The Solution
Decathlon decided to install an HVLS fan and a radiant heating tube in this area following Magnovent’s proposal.
During winter, the radiant heating tube is providing the necessary heat to the employees. With radiant heating we can heat only a specific area and we avoid heating the total volume of air. Heat is radiated once the heater is turned ON and employees don’t need to wait long time to feel it.
During summer, the HVLS ceiling fan is able to create a smooth breeze in the employees area that improves thermal sensation by up to 6ºC.
After checking the system operation success, Decathlon decided to implement our fans system in different logistics buildings and stores in Spain and France.
